Christian Assistance Network (CAN)

CAN has operated for more than 25 years as a faith-based outreach organization. We now operate as a 501c3 organization that qualifies for an AZ tax credit, offering assistance to those in need within 5 miles of the church when illness, job loss or family crisis leave children and adults at risk. Each Monday morning we provide utilities assistance to ensure those in need have water and power, as well as:

  • Personal care products, i.e.,
  • Household products, i.e., dish soap, laundry soap, cleaning supplies, etc.
  • Donated food, clothing and small household items
  • Gift cards for families for seasonal needs (school supplies, Christmas gifts, etc.)
  • Full day bus passes
  • Referrals to other service agencies
  • Prayers

We welcome new volunteers to bring their love of Christ and a willingness to openly share that love with others. One of our recipients has become a volunteer and some have begun to attend our Wednesday dinners and Sunday worship services. Those we serve tell us that a hallmark of our program is Christ’s love they feel in our presence, and the comfort they get from our prayers. They know God is with them when they leave to face their challenges again.  Why is what we do important? Because Jesus tells us in Matthew 25:40, “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
