Since joining Church of the Master I’ve become involved in fellowship, classes, and ministries, serving wherever God calls me. This has resulted in tremendous spiritual growth (though I still have lots of room to grow!), new friends, and many blessings of community and service in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

If you’re looking for a friendly congregation that is true to the word of God, serving Him in Mesa, Arizona, Church of the Master will do.

Church of the Master PC(USA)

We are Purpose Driven

We exist to know and spread God’s love by:
Announcing salvation through Jesus Christ
Being a caring community
Celebrating worship
Developing disciples
Equipping every member for service.
This five point purpose statement reflects the ministry priorities expressed in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-39), the Role of Church Leaders (Ephesians 4:11-14), and the Great Ends of the Church (PCUSA Book of Order G-1.02). This purpose statement guides our ministry organization (into five areas corresponding with the five purpose points), staffing, budgeting, strategic planning, and effectiveness evaluation.
We are Team Directed
We believe each follower of Christ is a vital part of Christ’s body, is a priest, is a co-worker with Christ, and is equipped and accountable for ministry. Consistent with these truths, we empower those closest to the level of hands-on ministry with authority to make decisions regarding their ministry. We place a high value on equipping and training our people for ministry. We strive to coordinate the ministries of over 50 empowered teams through the purpose driven structure.
Our Mission Objectives
Announce Christ as Lord and Savior through Biblical preaching; through discipleship oriented educational programs for children, youth, and adults; and through a commitment to reach unbelievers with the gospel of God’s grace and love.
Pursue true community in Christ through expanded ministries of compassion locally; through excelling at caring for those within our family who are in crisis, life change, or tragedy; and through intentionally connecting each member with a smaller group of Christians within the church for ministry, fellowship, support, or growth purposes.
Worship God through corporate services that reflect our cultural diversity (blended worship) and encourage a high level of congregational participation; and through providing resources for personal growth (devotional materials and training on habits for Christian growth).
Encourage discipleship through promoting membership as the beginning, not the conclusion of a journey of faith; promoting maturity as the result of intentional disciplines; promoting ministry as the call of every believer; and through aggressively programming to meet the needs of key life-situation groups (e.g. Children’s ministry funded and staffed; Youth ministry funded and staffed; Senior ministry funded and equipped).
Equip members as ministers through our team-directed commitment; through funding lay and staff training and a lay ministry coordinator; through zero-based budgeting; and through expanding our facilities to meet ministry needs.
